Millennial olive tree
Category: Olive trees
Origin: Mediterranean area
Description: Olea europaea, commonly called olive, olive or olive, is a small perennial tree, long-lived, that can reach up to 15 meters in height, with a wide crown and thick trunk, with a twisted appearance. Its bark is finely fissured, gray or silver in colour.
We call Olivos milenarios (ancient olive trees) those specimens of a thousand years or more that normally exceed the 4 meters of perimeter of trunk. Currently there are very few specimens for sale in Viveros, so their price is high, the Valencian Community prohibited the uprooting of these trees to protect them, not so in Andalusia, Castilla la Mancha or Catalonia where it is possible to grub them up and transplant them.
In Ornamentales Soler we have several copies for sale. Consult for more information.
