Description: Ficus elastica is an evergreen species that was introduced in Europe in 1815 as an indoor plant.
Large tree that can reach 30-40m in height, which has an irregular trunk of about 2m in diameter. Ficus elastica is cultivated worldwide as an ornamental plant, as an outdoor plant in warm climates from the tropics to the Mediterranean regions, and in cold climates as an indoor plant.
