Punica granatum (Pomegranate tree)

Origin: Probably native to the Iranian-Turan region, it has been naturalized in the Mediterranean area and introduced in South America, Mexico, South Africa and Australia; cultivated in temperate and subtropical areas. It is scattered mainly in the east and south of the Iberian peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Also in the Canary Islands
Description: Shrub or small tree up to 5 meters tall, deciduous, more or less spiny, highly branched. Right trunk, with cracked bark and opposing branches, patent; the young tetragons and sometimes pendulous.
Due to its ability to adapt to different climates and soils and being the most cultivated tree in the Elche region, in Ornamentales Soler we have a wide variety of formats from Punica granatum, from young trees to centenary specimens.
