Description: Strelitzia reginae, is a species of herbaceous angiosperm, rhizomatous. Herbaceous plant, with the shape of a bush and leaves with long petioles, with an average height of 1.5 meters and a diameter of 1.8 meters.
It needs intense light, three or four hours a day of direct sunlight, it does not bloom in inadequate light. During the period of active growth, it can be grown under normal conditions. It needs moderate irrigation and normal humidity.
Between March and October it requires large amounts of water.
Birds of paradise are very sensitive to insect attacks.
