Echinocactus grusonii
Category: Cactus
Origin: It is endemic from central Mexico, from Tamaulipas to the state of Hidalgo
Description: Echinocactus grusonii, golden ball, gold barrel, or hedgehog cactus, is a species belonging to the family Cactaceae.
More or less spherical globular cactus. Usually solitary, although adult specimens may sprout basal stems. In the wild, it can measure more than 1 meter in height, but since it is fairly slow growing it can take many years.
Although it is a species practically extinct in its place of origin it is cultivated all over the world as an indoor plant in pot and as one of the most cultivated in landscaping.
